RK Barclay   —   A Missouri Writer

Thank you for visiting my site — You are always welcome!

I am intrigued by history (our greatest teacher) and I adore the whimsical side of life, so I write historicals and wholesome children’s stories.

Kick your shoes off–Put your feet up–Grab your favorite beverage and Stay awhile.  I enjoy learning about my readers, so I invite comments and feedback. I hope you find the information helpful, inspiring and/or thought provoking.  Thank you for following along…

“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father in heaven.”  Matthew 5:16

This biblical directive is important to me, and even though there are times when my light is dim, I try each day to shine.

In Matthew 16:24, Jesus said;

“If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”

May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob dwell within us, and may we seek His will in our lives each day.  Amen

I cherish few things within God’s creation as much as I do Freedom. Nothing sparks my passion for freedom more than the Wild Horses and Burros of the American west. The following link to a Youtube video (lyrics by Jennifer Johnson) may help you understand…

If so, please join our chorus and lift up your voice for the ‘wild ones’.  Please…

My writing is inspired by a firm foundation of  faith derived from strong Midwestern values.

Growing up in rural Missouri, my influences were many and included devotion to the Creator, and respect for family, friends, and community.

This is a cute pic of my ‘big boy’ Bleau.  He showed up battered and bruised on my back deck one frosty Christmas Eve.  Isn’t it wonderful what a little love can do?  🙂

My 18lb. male cat, Bleau. He is so sweet.

I wish for you peace, compassion, and love.

During the colder months, please consider honking the horn or tapping the hood or firewall before starting your vehicle.  Small animals often seek warmth and shelter under vehicles in colder weather.  You might save a life!

Please remember to provide shelter and fresh food/water for outside animals.  On behalf of the animals, I thank you!  🙂

A little something about my webpage ‘background’.

When I began creating my new blog, there were several background templates available through Word Press and I toyed with the idea of using their offerings, but I wanted mine to be unique to me.  I finally decided to use a photo of an old Webster’s Dictionary and Encyclopedia presented to my father after college graduation.

Pages from my father’s dictionary/encyclopedia 1953 edition.
